This unique site is a complex traditional wood structure filled with brick walls. It creates a balanced relationship with the landscape context. For thermal comfort either outside or inside insulation would hide the natural materials. We kept the authentic site heritage but set a contemporary contrast within – a house in house solution, that provides function and comfort, as well a very specific spatial environment.
The Slender West Lake can always make the people free from stress and to have peace of mind. In the interior design of the wellness hotel just on the opposite of the slender west lake, we try to regenerate this kind of life quality.
To make an accommodation experience in Ordos different from anywhere
else and to arouse a local cultural interest, we took inspiration from the
traditional Mongolian dwelling, the yurt.
We were given the task of developing the interior of an existing Min Gou Style Building from the 1930’s. We tried to incorporate much of the traditional style and tone of the buildings origin integrated with a more modern design philosophy.
Bailu lake resort is a project for a high-end eco-resort and its facilities around Bailu lake in Hainan island in South China Sea. As many other rural areas, Bailu lake experiences aging demographic and decline in rural lifestyle due to young farmers leaving for the city to look for better work possibilities. The projects aims to create a unique enterprise within the area, triggering positive change within the county and providing opportunity for the locals by introducing the resort as part of rural tourism network.

Haiyang village is located two hours south of the city of Wuhan, and has slowly grown over many years within a hilly, wooded terrain interspersed with ponds. Today, the young population of such rural villages are hired as workers in the city. As a result, the potential of the village is declining, as the remaining elders have neither the strength nor the capital to innovate.
