Ordos Art Hotel

To make an accommodation experience in Ordos different from anywhere else and to arouse a local cultural interest, we took inspiration from the traditional Mongolian dwelling, the yurt.

How to make the local tradition attractive? Scattered on the grassland, Mongolian yurts are round in plan, with interesting interior space. But they cannot be stacked into multi-story buildings to meet the use requirements of today.

We transformed this traditional interior space into contemporary architecture and implanted modern life style and hotel design into the traditional Mongolian yurt. The hotels unique structure radiates as an urban landmark while maintaining a culturally sensitive design in the region. The hotel we designed ensures individuality as each room is unique to ensure a high quality of space while maintaining a simple interior design. We propose to create an extraordinary living experience in Ordos. The hotels exterior experience is complimented by the building’s extensive landscape in the front, and our unique and luxurious spatial arrangements within.
